Food Type

    1. I think it'd be useful to breakdown food stats for each food. Like the label on the side of a package.

That way we could ask questions like "What pasta has the lowest sodium?" or "Is this meal ok for a calorie restricted diet?"

      Thoughts?

      1. Hi, Allain.

There's been some related discussion in the food domain and on some of the topics within the domain (http://www.freebase.com/view/domain?id=/food). Note that Freebaser Thadguidry is particularly interested in ingredients.

I do agree that what you're suggesting would be useful, and I don't think we've seen anyone working on such a type yet. If you dive in and start modeling it--which would be great--I'd suggest posting any questions or thoughts in the food domain itself.

        Best,
        Sarah

      2. There is a good USDA standard reference database of food ingredients which would be a good place to start in modeling food ingredients.
