In the science fiction universe Stargate, Tau'ri (['tɔːɹi] or ['taʊːɹi]) is the name used by Milky Way aliens to refer to Earth or human beings from Earth. The word means "the first ones" or "those of the first world" in the fictional Goa'uld language, in the sense that human life began on Earth. Earth has also been referred to as "Midgard" by the peoples of planets under the protection of the Asgard.
