Sharam Tayebi (or known simply as Sharam) is an Iranian-American progressive house DJ and producer, forming one half of the Grammy award-winning DJ/production duo, Deep Dish. Being characterized by a distinct style compared to his partner Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia who produces minimal house. Sharam has performed as Deep Dish featuring Sharam, when he plays as the different half of the distinguished Deep Dish sound. The name Sharam is of Farsi origin and it means Shame or Modesty. The duo first met in Washington, D.C. around 1991 when they were accidentally double-booked at a club. Soon after, they formed Deep Dish Records and their work captured the attention of Danny Tenaglia and Tribal America Records, which put out the duo's first progressive-house compilation, Penetrate Deeper, in 1995. They have since released a number of mix CDs.
