Argument modeling is cool.
One project that might shed some light on how to structure the argument modeling domain is the TruthMapping project:

A freebase "topic" would be a TruthMapping "idea". Each idea has various premises. A premise is a short truth statement.
Each premise can be critiqued exactly once, and the critique has exactly one rebuttal, though these can evolve over time. Thus, it's a way to synthesize a threaded conversation that might spiral into many different facets of the argument, into a concise synthesis in which both sides are represented.
Maybe we could get some ideas from this...
