I would say that Web comics are comic strips or comic books—Girl Genius and Dr. McNinja, for example, are comic books. The collectives like Dumbrella are not syndicates—at least, not yet—and may need their own type. They could probably be co-typed with organization, depending on how they are structured. Some are incorporated businesses (like Blank Label and Dumbrella, I believe), and others are sort of loose associations.
