Eileen Nelson is Vice President of Human Resources for Tropos Networks. Prior to joining Tropos, Eileen was Sr. Vice President, Human Resources for eBay Corporation. She was responsible for leading all aspects of HR including staffing, compensation and benefits, HRIS, management & employee development and organizational effectiveness. Prior to eBay, Eileen spent 13 years at 3Com Corporation. As Sr. Vice President, Corporate Services from 1998 to 2001, she was responsible for global Human Resources, Employee Communication and Corporate Philanthropy. Growing from 1,200 to 14,000+ employees during Eileen’s tenure, she led all staffing, compensation and benefits, HRIS, succession planning, learning & development and employee communications. She was a leader in mergers and acquisitions activities for the company as well including the acquisition of US Robotics and Palm, and the subsequent spinoff of Palm. Other roles at 3Com included VP HR for the 3Com Systems and Corporate groups, and HR Director for the HW and SW business units.

Eileen’s additional experience includes Vice President, HR & Administration for Davong Systems, HR Director for Tandon/Western Digital Corp., and HR Manager for Unisys Corporation’s Program Products Division.

Eileen majored in English and Business at City University of NY and attended Columbia University’s Advanced HR and Organization Development graduate program. She sits on the Board of Directors of the eBay Foundation, TheatreWorks, Ballet San Jose and SpringBoard Forward, non profit organizations in the Arts and Human Services.
