Max Herrmann
is responsible for Calista’s worldwide
marketing efforts including product
management, product marketing and corporate
marketing. He has over 16 years of marketing,
sales and management experience in the
high-tech industry, of which over 10
years in the areas of server-centric
computing and media-rich applications.
Max joined Calista Technologies
from the desktop marketing team at Sun
Microsystems, which he joined at the
time when Sun acquired Tarantella, a
leading provider of multi-platform application
management solutions for enterprise
and service provider data centers.
Max held executive marketing
roles at both Tarantella and New Moon
Systems, a server-based computing software
company that Tarantella acquired in
2003. As the VP of Marketing and Strategy
at New Moon, Max spearheaded
the company’s entry into the growing
market for management software for Windows®
Terminal Services with a cost-effective
solution for the SMB marketplace. Prior
to New Moon Systems, Max served
as VP of Business Development at blaxxun
interactive, a leading-edge enabler
of multi-user, media-rich communication
and collaboration solutions for the
web. Prior to joining blaxxun interactive,
Max was a co-founder and senior
executive at LogiCad3D Inc., a Logitech
company, where he was instrumental in
launching and running a successful 3D
input device business selling to global
Fortune 2000 manufacturing companies.
Max holds the equivalents of
a Master’s degree in Aerospace
Engineering from the University of Stuttgart,
and of an MBA from the Technical University
of Munich.
