Guy Cote is Chief Scientist of Mobilygen. Prior to joining Mobilygen, Guy was co-founder and VP R&D at VideoLocus, which was aquired by LSI Logic in 2002. With LSI Logic/VideoLocus, Guy was responsible for video encoding algorithms and architecture for H.264/AVC and VC-1. Prior to VideoLocus, Guy developed MPEG-2 video encoding systems for PixStream Inc., which was acquired by Cisco Systems in December 2000. Guy holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of British Columbia and a B.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada. He is an active participant in the ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG) and a voting member of the International Standardization Committee ISO/IEC/JTCI/SC29 (JBIG, JPEG, MPEG). Guy has published over 25 journal papers, conference papers and standards contributions and has several patents awarded and pending.
