Bonnie McElveen-Hunter is an American businesswoman who is the first woman Chairman of the Board of Governors of the American Red Cross. She is currently serving a second three-year term, the first of which began in June, 2004 when she was appointed to the post by U.S. President George W. Bush. She is the Founder and CEO of Pace Communications, a publishing company, and was the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Finland from 2001 - 2003. She also served as the Finance Chairman of Elizabeth Dole's campaign for the Republican nomination for U.S. President. She resides in Greensboro, NC and Washington, D.C. She is married and has one child named Bynum and has a wonderful niece named Pendleton. Her mother is an inspirational speaker named Madeline.
