Shinji Takahashi (高橋 信次, Takahashi Shinji, September 21, 1927 - June 25, 1976) was a Japanese religious leader, corporate manager and hardware engineer.
Founder of the new religion/religious corporation God Light Association (GLA), born in Saku city, Nagano prefecture. Founded Koden Industry Co., Ltd. and served as its first president. Head of the Humanity’s Scientific Research Center.
Takahashi was born on September 21, 1927 in Sakukougen, Nagano prefecture, to a farm family, as the second eldest son among 10 children. After dropping out his second year from a middle school that was run under the old system of education when he was 13 years old, Takahashi entered the Army Cadet School. He then completed his studies and graduated from the Army War College, after which he was dispatched as an aerial navigator. At the end of the war in 1945, Takahashi returned to Nagano prefecture, his hometown. Upon moving to Tokyo, he passed a high school equivalency exam and studied mainly in the College of Science and Technology at Nihon University. Although Takahashi was said to have studied at the University of Tokyo for graduate school for a period of time, he was not able to obtain a graduate
