This type contains information about elections for governmental offices. In order to be able to compare elections for the same office, each office or seat should have its own election topic.  E.g., each seat for a legislature will have a separate topic. These contests can then be linked to the general election that they are a part of. Primary elections should also have the type "primary election" added to their topics.
