Charles Parrot (better known as Charley Chase) served as the supervising director on Our Gang and the other early entries in the series. Fred Newmeyer directed the original version of this short, shot in January 1922. After preview screenings, Roach brought in Robert F. McGowan and Tom McNamara to reshoot the film (following their work on two other Our Gangs, Fire Fighters and Young Sherlocks).
No complete prints of the film Our Gang are known to survive. Approximately half of the film exists across several archival fragments held by private collectors. It is considered to be a lost film.
