The band didn't feel strongly that !!Destroy-Oh-Boy!! would sell or be well-known. Bassist of the group Matt Reber recalled "I didn't think anyone would like the "Destroy Oh-Boy" record". Vocalist Eric Davidson also noted he "...figured, for sure, it would be stacked in the back of Used Kids Records in Columbus and they'd be putting them out in the dollar bins, every couple of months. That's what I figured.".
