In this episode, Detectives Logan and Barek investigate the recent and brutal machete murders some that are counted as a hate crime.
They interview former foster mother, Chesley Watkins (portrayed by Whoopi Goldberg), and suspect a link between her and her fully grown foster boys, when they track them down, Logan ends up shooting an undercover cop-that of Major Case Squad, leading the situation to jeopardize Deakin's career. Meanwhile during the interrogation, Logan and Barek end up finding a big twist in the investigation, and begin to agree that Chesley is the real perpetrator behind the crimes.
