Content
Prefuse flare based visualization of the graph of influence nodes on freebase.com. The Genealogy of Influence project was started by Mike Love in the summer of 2005 (see the weblink on the right for further information). In July 2007, Mike added the data to Freebase and ever since it is now growing here on freebase.com on a daily basis through input of the freebase community. The Genealogy of Influence viewer uses the open freebase API to get access to this data and offers an interactive visualization of this web of influences. While browsing this fascinating data, please feel encouraged to "jump" directly to the related page on freebase.com by clicking on the "edit/read more" link in the lower right corner of the viewer. Here you will find more detailed information on the respective influence person, but what will really make your day once you have your free freebase.com account is start editing the information given, adding additional content and most of all creating new Influence Person and connections. Wouldn't it be fantastic if many people with different expertise help to get this something really big ... The Genealogy of Influence is fascinating, this viewer not yet. Please help with your feedback to make this little bug something as magnetizing as the information visualized. The discussion board in the lower right corner of this page is ready for your highly appreciated input. Thanks martin PS: The InfluenceViewer is my first more mature prefuse flare project which might flow into a general framework for graph visualization on top of flare. Please feel invited to contact me if you are interested in any kind of graph visualization project with prefuse, either based on freebase data or any other source. Maybe we can manifest something together.
