How about addding a references field?

  1.
    1. I was looking for a references field to add the paper about a comaprsion study but couldn't find one.

      1. You're certainly right to think that there shoud be one.   When I set to Type up, the main aim was to explore the cross-referencing between 'Environmental model comparison study' and 'Environmental model' itself (1 study will reference several models; 1 model can reference 0 or more studies).   I simply used the generic 'Weblinks' property to link to any (online) documentation.

Before we add a 'References' property, ot is probably worthwhile to check to see if Freebase actually has a Type for academic publications.  It would fit in well with the Freebase model if it does, since (e.g.) each author can then link to a Person Type.   If it doesn't, and we decide to model this area in a principled way, then that would probably require some thought.

Of course, we can always just treat the reference as a text string, which is probably all that you were looking for...

      2. I was using the 'Environmental modellling' domain to capture information on N2O emission work.

Immediately, treating the reference as a text string would work as for this to work I need to note to published paper but I could stick it in as URL using the DOI (linked to a server) would be better than simple text that just gave the reference.

However, I agree a Type for academic publications would be much better.

      3. Can't I edit posts?

         New version:

      4. There is a type for academic publications: Scholary work.  Documentation about using it is here: Entering Scholarly Works and Citations.
