The Century was developed by Related Companies. The Century is on the site of the former St. Regis Hotel, a Century City landmark next to the Century Plaza Hotel. The 30-story hotel was completed in 1984 and hosted many famous guests, including former President Reagan. Related shuttered the property in 2005 after spending $123 million to buy it.
On July 22, 2008 Candy Spelling, the wife of late television producer Aaron Spelling, purchased the penthouse occupying the top two floors of the building.
