The episode begins as Sookie finishes screaming: Jason enters and upon seeing Dawn's corpse drops the alcohol and the flowers he was holding. After hearing Sookie scream, Dawn's neighbor (who had witnessed Jason and Dawn fighting the previous night) enters and calls the police. Concluding that the killer had a key, the entire neighborhood watches from the street as Sheriff Deerbourne arrests Jason and the coroner places Dawn's corpse into the "meatwagon". Jason, fearing its discovery, drinks the entire vial of vampire blood and hides the empty vial in the seat of the police car. He is then interviewed by Detective Jack who tries to trick him into changing his story. When it doesn't work, the detective accuses Jason of sexual arousal from the killing of women....
