Chris Maden conducted a data and document consulting business under the business name of “crism consulting” from 2001, when his employer shut down unexpectedly, until late 2005, after taking employment with Applied Minds, Inc. (as part of the group spun off as Metaweb Technologies, Inc.). Clients of crism consulting included Hewlett-Packard, ASM International, and several smaller companies. Consulting work included redesigning technical manual production processes, developing online publishing solutions for technical content, contributing to a process-driven Web-based insurance quote and purchase system, and implementing a database-driven financial publication system. The business has been dormant since 2005.
