Adam Balm, also known as Metal Man, is a member of the Atomics. He's a former mutant street beatnik who became a superhero with the power to create powerful blasts of sound. He and Luna Romy (It Girl) were in love with one another. While on a space mission to save the universe, he was killed in Madman Atomic Comics #6 by alien brain eaters, at which point his body was reanimated to create the Zombot.
