The Black Marble tells the story of a burned-out, alcoholic cop going through a mid-life crisis named Valnikov (Robert Foxworth) who is teamed with a sensible female police officer (Paula Prentiss). The two of them find their way through a sordid urban world of sleaze and despondency and fall in love while trying to solve the case of a socialite’s kidnapped dog.
