Apan received her earliest musical training from her grandparents who taught her how to play musical instruments such as the accordion, violin, organ, harmonica, and piano. She studied ballet, tap, and jazz dance from a niece of Gene Kelly and also studied hip hop and modern dance. She studied classical piano and voice along with acting classes through Wilkes University's Conservatory and also studied musical theatre at Carnegie Mellon University, Seton Hill University, and Slippery Rock University. Apan also developed her voice by participating in stage musical productions, operas, and choirs.
