Charles Dinn served as Kings Island's Director of Construction, where he designed and built The Beast with a team including Al Collins, Jim Nickell, and William Reed. In 1983, Dinn opened his own corporation in West Chester, Ohio and left King's Island. He teamed up with Curtis D. Summers, Inc., an engineering firm in Loveland, Ohio to build several wooden roller coasters. The corporation also relocated many older wooden roller coasters from parks that had been closed to new parks.
In 1992, Summers died, and the Dinn Corporation did not develop any more coasters. However, his daughter Denise Dinn Larrick took over and developed Custom Coasters International, which became another prominent wooden roller coaster company.
