Abraham Hondius (Rotterdam 1625 - London 1691) was a Dutch Baroque painter known for animal paintings. He was the son of a city stone mason, Daniel Abramsz de Hondt. Hondius trained under Pieter de Bloot ( 1601 – 1658) and Cornelis Saftleven. More than two-thirds of his work are animal pieces....
