Eastern Hemlock - Northern Hardwood Forest

This association occurs in ravines, on mid- to lower slopes, and around drainages. It is is dominated by eastern hemlock (Tsuga canadensis) with red maple (Acer rubrum), American beech (Fagus grandifolia), black cherry (Prunus serotina), yellow birch (Betula alleghaniensis), sweet birch (Betula lenta), and/or sugar maple (Acer saccharum) as codominants.
