The film was produced by Pope Productions and distributed in Canada by Mongrel Media Ray (Shawn Doyle) is a former NHL ice hockey player who is convicted of drug charges. After he comes back to his Newfoundland home, his wife Lillian (Sherry White) leaves to seek fame in Hollywood with another man. Ray is left with his daughters Rose (Julia Kennedy) and Ruby (Tatiana Maslany). He transitions into homosexuality while Ruby copies her mother's pursuit for stardom, pursuing a sexual encounter with Stuart in the process. Stuart is disabled, rendered unable to walk after he was accidentally shot by Ray. The film was produced by St. John's based Pope Productions.
