Lucy is a young woman who just got a new job as an at-home nurse. She works with and is trained by an older lady, Mrs. Wilson. On her first day at the job, she visits an old man to whom she administers a shot and a woman whose "gift" Lucy must clean up. The last patient that Mrs. Wilson and Lucy go to visit lives in an old mansion outside of civilization. Mrs. Wilson tells Lucy to stay in the car, as the patient living at this mansion is not for beginners. Lucy, curious, wanders inside the mansion anyway. She finds Mrs. Wilson at the bed of the woman to whom she is attending, Mrs. Deborah Jessel.
